Play, Live. Be Tobacco Free Grants available for Halton Region Sport & Recreation organizations

Play, Live, Be Tobacco-Free Grants are available for Halton Region Sport and Recreation Organizations this year. In recognition of the vital role sport and recreation organizations play in the health and well-being of communities, a maximum of 8 grants in total are bing offered to non-profit sport and recreation groups in Halton.

To qualify for a grant, submit an application outlining plans to develop and promote a tobacco-free policy (refer to the grant application and the guide for developing these policies). Policies protect against all tobacco use and extend to everyone involved in the sport and recreation activity. This means that all participants, parents, coaches, spectators, leaders and other associated with the organization, do not smoke, snuff, dip or chew tobacco during any organization sanctioned program or event.
The grant process is available to all non-profit sport and recreation clubs, teams, leagues and organizations in Halton and the grant application is NOW OPEN. Grants will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis provided the application is completed in full, meets the eligibility criteria, and supporting documentation (if requested) is submitted. Applications will be accepted until midnight, September 30, 2011.
